Inclement Weather Policy 2023
Please refer to this policy when winter storms approach.
1. If North Attleborough schools cancel classes for the day, daily Mass is canceled for that day and the Parish Office will be closed for the day. All scheduled activities and meetings are canceled for the day.
2. If North Attleborough schools have a delay in opening, daily Mass is canceled for that day and the office will open later if it is safe for travel. Scheduled activities and meetings are canceled for the day.
3. If there is a severe storm on a weekend, we would not risk travel. Masses would be held on Saturday at 4:00 pm Mass and/or Sunday at 9:30 am at Saint Mary Church only. Sacred Heart Church and Saint Mark Church would not be open for use under these circumstances. We will indicate this plan on the parish voicemail and website and if possible via the parish Facebook page. Common sense should always prevail. If we are told to stay off the roads in a storm even if it is not a declared snow emergency, then you should stay home. This is for your safety and the safety of others.
4. If a snow emergency is declared and travel is restricted to emergency vehicles on a weekday, Saturday or Sunday – no Mass celebrated in the parish that day. Please consider watching the Fall River Diocesan Television Mass on Sunday at 11 a.m. on WLNE-TV, ABC Channel 6, New Bedford-Providence or online at https://www.fallriverdiocese.org/tv-mass/ We will indicate this plan on the parish voicemail and website and if possible via the parish Facebook page.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation concerning these directives.

Welcome Video
Welcome to Transfiguration of the Lord Parish!
As pastor, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our family of faith. We continue to build upon the rich tradition of countless Catholics who sought to build their relationship with God upon solid rock. Wherever you might find yourself worshiping and praying: at Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, Sacred Heart Church or at Saint Mark Church, know that the community of faith welcomes you and embraces you.
If there is anything that we can do to help make you feel at home in our spiritual community, please do not hesitate to contact the parish office which is located at 14 Park Street. If you have any specific questions and or thoughts that you would like to share with me, please do not hesitate to contact me via email. My parish email address is frrodneyccna@gmail.com and I am only an electronic second away.
Please know that there are many ministries if you would like to donate your time and talents. Getting involved in the life of the community has a special way of making you feel “connected” to this special place.
Again, welcome to Transfiguration of the Lord Parish. We hope that you feel at home as you gather to hear the Word of God and be nourished by the Eucharist.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Fr. Rodney
(Rev.) Rodney E. Thibault, J.C.L.

The dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays
and Holy Days of obligation was lifted on June 19/20 by Bishop da Cunha.
This means that our obligation as Catholics to attend Mass on Sunday (or Saturday Vigil) and Holy Days of Obligation resumed on June 19/20 unless as specified . The obligation does not apply to those who are ill, recently exposed to COVID-19 or other communicable illnesses, those confined to their homes or other facilities for various reasons, and those who are not able to be vaccinated for specific reasons.
Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus,
I believe that You are present
in the Most Holy Sacrament of the altar.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there
and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen
